The term orthodontics comes from the Greek ortho, which means straight, and odontos, for tooth.
Orthodontics is therefore the art of bringing teeth into proper alignment and correcting any crowding or overlapping teeth. The goal, in fact, is not purely esthetic. Orthodontics also has a practical aim: to provide you a functional occlusion for the rest of your life. At the end of your treatment, not only will you leave with a beautiful smile but you will also have a functional bite, which will enable you to maintain optimal oral and dental health.
Each person is unique and every case is different. During your first consultation, we aim to answer any questions you may have as well as determine the exact nature of your dental condition. This step is a very important one, as it allows us to evaluate the types of care that would be most appropriate for your situation, and to present you the various treatment options you have available. By the end of this appointment, you will know the approximate duration of your treatment, all of the care involved, and the associated costs.
