“I consider it a privilege to be able to contribute to the well-being and health of my clients. Beyond even their smiles which I find so gratifying, it’s knowing that I have a role to play in their health and general well-being that makes my work meaningful.”
Dr. Jamal obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1999 from the Université de Montréal. She has received awards for excellence from the Société dentaire de Montréal (Montreal dental society) and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In 2000, Dr. Jamal completed a multidisciplinary residency at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. She then went on to practise as a general dentist for five years, two of which she spent in Nunavik. In her private practice, she has taught dentistry students at Université de Montréal and McGill University in the areas of dental surgery and cosmetic dentistry.
In 2008, Dr. Jamal completed her Master of Clinical Dentistry as well as her specialization in orthodontics at the University of Western Ontario, where she received the P.J. Blake Memorial Award for excellence. At the end of her studies in orthodontics, she was selected by McGill University’s Department of Plastic Surgery to be Chief Orthodontist of the Craniofacial Unit. She then went on to pursue further studies at the NYU Langone Health Center in New York to complete her training in craniofacial dentistry. In addition to her clinic practice, Dr. Jamal treats children with craniofacial anomalies and cleft lip and palate at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, and she continues to care for the Inuit population in Nunavik. Her impressive training, combined with her passion for her profession, her clinical experience, and her very caring, open-minded and engaging personality make her an exceedingly competent professional who is unanimously appreciated by her clients.
